A List of Stuff You Need In Order To Survive Outdoors
If you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend significant time camping and mountain trekking in remote and isolated places, then you probably are aware how important it is to always bring the necessary survival gear in order to survive. So the only question left for us to answer is what should be inside your survival kit.
1 – Knife
When you’re camping and you don’t bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you’re like lacking one hand. You should understand that a knife isn’t just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. The reason why you can’t go out there without it is because it can do so many things that other outdoor survival gear and tools cannot. The knife is the tool you need in order to cut rope, bandages, and clothing, prepare food, cut wood to build fire and build shelter, and many more.
2 – Rope
Rope is undoubtedly an essential part of any DIY survival gear. The fact is it almost is impossible to survive out there in a remote place or in the wild if you don’t have a rope with you or if you don’t know how to make one. The rope plays a very important role in a survival situation as it is used for so many different purposes, including that of building emergency shelters, fixing things, lashing poles, making animal traps, fishing, climbing, and making splints for injuries.
3 – Water Container
This one honestly does not need any explanation. If you don’t know it yet, a human being is capable of surviving for days even without food, provided he has access to drinking water. Therefore, the failure to bring any kind of hydration system or water storage will decrease your chances of surviving out there. Know that not all water found outdoors is ideal for drinking.
4 – Signaling Device
Once you find yourself in a survival situation after camping and there seems to be no one else around, it means that one of your primary objectives is to look for ways to contact people. The thing is if you let several days pass without doing something to make contact, your chances of being rescued will be decreased significantly. So as to be sure you have some aid in terms of establishing contact when you’re in a survival situation, always bring with you a signaling equipment. There are so many things you can bring with you like a whistle, flashlight, or any other thing that can produce light or sound of some kind. Any signaling equipment must be considered as an essential tactical survival gear that you can’t afford to forget bringing.
The fact is there still are so many things you should be bringing with you if you go out camping or hiking and we leave the responsibility of learning the rest to you.
